Burton Constable Hall

Burton Constable Hall

Burton Constable Hall is a large Elizabethan country house and a Grade I listed building. It is set in a park designed by Capability Brown with an area of 300 acres, and has been the home of the Constable family for over 400 years.

It is reputedly haunted by a number of ghosts - both inside and outside. In the building, the apparition of the 18th century William Constable has been reported; a former Nanny to the children has been sighted in the North Tower; a Nun drifts through the Long Gallery; a Black Labrador runs past people on the stairs; and a woman wearing a brown check shirt and brown shoes has been witnessed in the South Wing. Outside, Roman Legionaires that march along the driveway.
